Following their near-deadly fight with the roper, Argora, Blumf, Hugo, Kerath, Keeva, and Qeew nursed their wounds. [Stuv, whose player was not present, was said to have fled after the harrowing experience.] Sensing phat loot, they tore into the roper’s gut and–after sifting through the dissolved remains of less talented adventurers–recovered some valuable gemstones and a Ring of Spell Storing. Session 10 — False Steps
In the morning in Blassingdell, Qeew, Argora, and Hugo stopped by Gix’s General Store. The tiefling merchant recognized the travelers as favored guests of Lord Kane, and he extended a V.I.P. discount to them for a bag of holding, which Qeew purchased for the group. Continue reading “Session 10 — False Steps”
Session 9 — Noble Gas
While still in Oakhurst, Argora discovered he had a mysterious magical affinity to a shield adorned with a partial eclipse–the holy symbol of Pholtus, god of light and law–that he purchased at Soots’s Smithy. Continue reading “Session 9 — Noble Gas”
Session 8 — Family Reunions
Before any members of the party could act, the undead troll they woke lashed out at Kerath, bringing him down from full health to unconscious. Believing this was a fight they could not win, the party pulled Kerath’s unconscious body away from the troll, healed him, and then fled. Continue reading “Session 8 — Family Reunions”
Session 7 — A Good Death
Belak was outraged by Kerath’s assault on the Gulthias Tree, and he and his thralls immediately attacked. The two beside Belak were Sharwyn Hucrele, daughter of Kerowyn, and Sir Braford, a knight who accompanied the other lost adventurers that the party had been sent to rescue. They were apparently under some spell to obey him. Continue reading “Session 7 — A Good Death”
Session 6 — Answers
Through further investigation, the party learned that the hostile twig blights grew from the seeds of the fruits of the Gulthias Tree. This explained both the disappearance of the saplings planted by the townsfolk of Oakhurst and the mysterious deaths, as the saplings must have uprooted once they were mature and killed the victims. Continue reading “Session 6 — Answers”
Session 5 — Weird Science
The party decided to enter the fray to rescue Yusdrayl and to kill Calcryx. They were successful, and though Yusdrayl regarded Calcryx as her valuable property, she was grateful for their intervention. She was also pleased to receive Durnn’s head. She rewarded the party for the assassination and asked them to continue exterminating goblins. Continue reading “Session 5 — Weird Science”
Session 4 — The Goblin King
Thaddeus led Calcryx alone while carrying Meepo to a room with a cage after saying to the rest of the group, “Don’t wait up for me; I’ve got this.” Before they could follow, they were ambushed by goblins and were ultimately forced to take a long rest before continuing their pursuit. By that time, they found only Meepo’s remains and no sign of Thaddeus or the dragon. Continue reading “Session 4 — The Goblin King”
Session 3 — The Gnome and the Dragon
After killing the goblin archers, the party freed a fortune-seeking gnome cleric named Erky Timbers from a cage, as well as a pair of ungrateful kobolds that Kavagal nearly smashed when he busted down the door. The gnome told them about the Twilight Grove, an underground area beneath the citadel where the magic fruit-bearing tree existed. He also said that a spellcaster named Belak was said to reside there, and that Belak was gifting the magic fruit to the goblins. Continue reading “Session 3 — The Gnome and the Dragon”
Session 2 — Never Split the Party
Meepo led Argora, Blumf, Kerath, and Qeew to the kobold queen Yusdrayl, who explained that goblins had stolen the kobolds’ prized dragon, Calcryx. She promised rewards both for returning Calcryx and for bringing her the head of the goblin chief Durnn. Yusdrayl warned that “The Outcast,” a magic-wielding human, supplied the goblins with the magic fruit. She also permitted her captives to join the party: Kavagal, a goliath barbarian; Thaddeus Graves, a human cleric; and Zin, a half-elf cleric. Continue reading “Session 2 — Never Split the Party”
