I hope you are well! So much has happened since we left Shalako, I can’t wait to tell you all about it! We found a sick kid who had some abnormal magical powers, everything was blowing up, it was unnaturally dark, and magical creatures kept appearing and disappearing. It was really cool, but also really scary because I really didn’t know what to do. Luckily I have a really smart friend who knows a lot about our people, the water genasi, so Vitus is currently watching him! We have about a week of down time, and I would love to come visit but we need to make some extra gold thanks to those pesky dark elves stealing it all! I’ll explain that part later…
My friends and I found a message board in Lo’Thar that had a ton of jobs for us to do! There were a ton of jobs, but the one that stood out the most was a chance to help another sick kid! We were supposed to meet someone named Doomsayer Gloombringer at a place called Death’s Door. Lo’Thar is huge and we’ve never seen this place, so we found a pair of nice youngsters and asked for directions. I don’t think they were very helpful, but non-the-less we found the place! All I can say is…whoa.
There were these guards, sort of like humanoid-hippopotamus people that I’ve never seen before, and they weren’t very nice! They wouldn’t let us go in together and took us in one at a time. I was super brave and let my friends go in first, in order to offer backup if needed. When I went in, they tried to be mean and pick on me with their strange water pistols but I sure surprised them! I threw the power of the sun in their face and bewildered them with my powerful nature magic! After a little while though I decided they had enough torment and we all had a great time drinking some super tasty spirits.
I’m not really sure what happened with the whole kid thing, Urs and I taught the tavern patrons how to play Blue Streak while Aengus and Bray-Bray met with Gloombringer. I had so much fun that day, I even almost broke the record for longest to handle their drink, getting up to 17 seconds! I don’t really remember too much after that, something about Urs and 23… but the next thing I knew I woke up in my store! You know, the Aquatic Concoction, the super-successful potion store I own. You should come visit some time, when I’m here, you are a VIP after all!
I think the conversation with Gloombringer didn’t go so well and she didn’t want to hire us, I sure do hope Aengus didn’t bring up that story about his dead nephews. We decided to try another one of the jobs, something about a Pina Colada and getting rained on. I don’t really understand what the job was, but I love rain so I was game! We went to this place called Margarita’s Villa to find someone named Madge. My brother Mason, who looks nothing like me, is friends with Margarita and gave me some strange advise on how to interact with her. I really don’t think my brother is very good at making friends, his method didn’t go over very well.
While this was going on, my friends met with Madge and showed her a great time! They bought her dinner and spoke with her for a long time. I think this conversation went a whole lot better than with the women in Death’s Door. Ends up she didn’t just want to have a good time, she had another job for us! She thinks her husband is cheating on her, he’s some magistrate named Leon and he may like an Angel. Apparently when you get married and you aren’t happy, it’s really complicated and it’s hard to just leave. It’s now our job to catch him in the act and get some proof, helping Madge divorce her husband!
We just checked into an inn called On Your Dime for an evening, some inn where this guy likes to visit the angel. It smells a little bit like Kitty’s Korner, but certainly is missing the charm of your establishment. I think the room costs are similar, but the store is making a ton of money lately so we can afford it! Madge is supposed to alert us, somehow, the next time her husband mysteriously leaves so we can try to intercept him. He may be here, he may be at a bath house (I hope!), either way I’m really looking forward to seeing this angel! I’ve heard stories from the elders back in Ardrurd Khul about angels and demons, I hope I can finally meet one!
I need to be careful about writing too much, the last letter I wrote was stolen. My brother and friends will be really angry at me if another letter gets stolen, this time I’m going to be extra careful getting this to you! I can’t wait to talk and share more stories, I’ll tell you all about this angel!
