Session 11 – A Wild Rover Reunion!

Dear Angus,

I get it my friend, life is rough. The monetary demands of owning a ranch can be overburdening, sick children are everywhere, and now even the holy vows of marriage are no longer sacred. However, the next time Urs orders two dozen beers, you really don’t need to drink all of them! I partially blame the innkeeper for not letting us take them upstairs, but perhaps it would have been better to give them out to the other inhabitants and now just down them all! I noticed that you haven’t really been yourself since then, at times your quiet, at times your accent has a hint of Urs in it, and sometimes you just seem like you’re not even in there! Because how absent your presence has been, I thought I would write down some notes to catch you up to speed once this strange hangover has passed, trust me I know how crappy hangovers can be (and Mason is apparently all out of hangover relief potions).

As we were drinking in On Your Dime and wondering when we would hear word from Madge, the evening took an unexpected turn as Vara walked through the door! At first, I didn’t recognize her, as she was wearing a new set of plate armor (ew). She told us that she ended up going back to the dark elves to find herself. Tobias’ interactions with Urs reminded herself of something from her past, and she went back to do something… honestly I can’t remember what, a lot was going on and I was just so excited to see her! Even better, she found all of our stuff! Well, most of it, not our gold, but we can always get more of that! She didn’t see Avery, but that isn’t a bad thing. Maybe I’ll write a letter to him soon to make sure he knows that we’re going to the Feywild. Oh also, Vara brought us a bag of holding and an awesome magic wand that she gave me! I haven’t tried it yet, but I think it zaps things!

After some catching up Madge finally came to find us, letting us know that it was time. Her husband Leon was headed in the direction of the bath house, and after much deliberation we decided that Urs and I were the best to infiltrate the bath house and get to the bottom of this whole thing! We busted through the inn doors and dashed through the streets, careful not to attract too much attention. When we finally arrived, we came of with a foolproof plan! Urs would distract the bath house attendance and give me an opening to sneak inside as a chameleon to spy on the magistrate. As Urs engage the worker, I think he got a bit overly excited in his own investigate as it took him quite a while to get me inside. After some brief conversation and a little bit of brute force, he succeeded in getting me in and I went straight to work!

Inside the steamy bath house were 4 groups of people: a male and female, another male and female, a lone attractive female, and two males. I stealthily made my way to a pillar to get a better view and realized that one of the two males matched the description of the magister. I moved in under a towel next to the men to get more information, and I was right! Leon seemed a bit stressed and was happy to have his friend there, although it wasn’t just a friend but it was more of a friend! Everyone was so relaxed inside, after I was finished spying I had a bit of a hard time leaving because I wanted to just lounge in the bath water. On my way out I thought it would be a good idea to snoop through their belongings in the locker room to see if I can find anything else, but everything was locked and there was nothing I could do in there.

Arriving back in the inn, we realized that we didn’t really know who Leon’s gentleman caller was, so I rushed my way back to the bath house to see if I could tale him! On arrival I realized that they may have already left, so I concocted a plan! The details aren’t important, but I learned two valuable bits of information:

1) They aren’t hiring.

2) this district has a strong no-loitering policy (Private Butch is very good at his job).

Empty handed and escorted back to the inn by my good friend Private Butch, we decided that our next move would be to have a talk with Leon in the House of Borja, his place of work. Angus and others were tired of the games and decided it was time for force! In the morning we traveled to the main office and met with Leon, stating that we wanted to talk to him about zoning issues with the Aquatic Concoction (between you and I, I don’t really know what that means but it must be good because it got us in!). Vara took the lead in the conversation, using her terrifying presence accompanied by Urs’ aggressive pointing. We tried to get him to come clean to his wife, but at first he wasn’t having it. We could tell that he was conflicted, although even with the group putting pressure on him, he still held his resolve.

Being new to this whole love thing, I thought long and hard about the situation and realized that we were doing it all wrong. I told him that this whole thing was not about divorce, it was about the connection that he had with his wife and that they should be honest with one another. He may love another, but after all these years he still loved his wife and it was his duty to be honest with her. When it comes to love, you should always tell the truth… more on that later. With luck, it worked!!! Leon seemed grateful of us, and we were even able to tell him about that really mean guard Tommy. I don’t think we’ll ever see that guy again!

On our way out we went to retrieve our things and met a guard named Gẽrmếir and he was holding Urs’ hammer! Naturally we became best friends with the guy, and decided that we should all go on a hunt. He was very interested in Urs’ hammer, and was even more interested in having his own weapon blessed by your religious powers. We agreed to go gnome hunting with him in the morning, as we needed to visit Vitus and Tobias still.

We traveled to the Arcanum and went all the way to the top floor of the wizard tower to meet Vitus and Tobias! At first I didn’t see Tobias, but that was because he was transformed into an awesome unicorn! Vitus looked like he hadn’t slept in days, oh good times! It looked like Vitus had everything under control, and after investigating some of Vara’s new magical items it was time for us to get some rest. Madge wasn’t there, but someone comped us 2 more nights in the inn. Thanks mysterious patron, I’m sure we’ll never have to repay that debt!

Well, time for us to head on over to the Garden District to meet with the Master Tree Hugger (a huge goliath build like a tree). The gnomes took over the center gardens. They’re having a good time and don’t want to leave, refusing to leave unless we catch them and then do their challenge. I think there’s a dozen of them, this should be no problem!

I’ll slip this in your bag, hope you enjoy reading it later!

XOXO
